Chord Buddy

I love Shark Tank on ABC (set your DVR)

One product they had was Chord Buddy which turns your real guitar into Guitar Hero (one button per chord). I was on the fence of getting it because it only does 4 chords, but they are the most widely used ones.

Then Tom sent me this link about how all the pop hits of the last 40 years use the same chord sequence, so I'm ordering it.

2011: Things I planned.

Before every year you need to plan to get a few things done. Some specific vacation plans or trip.

March - Vegas
I made it to Vegas for my 8th year in a row. It is still a lot of fun because the city is always changing. Here is a video of the Bellagio water show. A must see at night.

June - Guys trip to Nantucket
My Dad and his friends sail to Nantucket at least once a year. I've been thinking about planning one for the past couple years with my Dad and brothers. The weather didn't allow us to sail over, so we took the ferry and stayed in the harbor. Here is a picture of our cabin on the water. We also managed to see some houses that were in our family in the 1830's.

July - France
My friends took an assignment in France so they offered to host me for my trip and we took some great day trips. I went for a week and had a great time, see my 8 blogs about it from before.
Here is the first picture I took as I exited the Metro.

Aug - Cape Cod
It was great to be able to spend some time with the family and my niece's.
The funny part about this sign on the door to my room, is that this room was a closet since I slept on the sailboat.

Plus with 9 people in a cottage, you have to have specific rules.

Coast Guard Beach. Looking for sharks.

Amazing Music Video

I know Tom would love this, now to think of some good captions:

"Next on America's got talent?"

"If Bieber can do it..."

"Is this what they'll do after they take over?"

"It must be cold up in Canada"

Pentatonix

Despite my work groups love of singing competition office pools, it is apparent that no one is watching the Sing Off. Could be because it is on during Monday Night Football.
But this group is amazing by any standard. They are only 5 up against some groups with 20 people, but the way they arrange songs is incredible.

In Time

I saw In Time this weekend (A-). It was a really good movie that I think is being hurt by a bad release date. Coming out around Halloween, it only had 1 showing by me due to Twilight. So far it cost $40 Mil to make and has only made $30 Mil.
I won't ruin any of the story, but it is clearly making a broader social commentary that sticks with you after the movie.
The only downside is that now the costar, Amanda Seyfried, won't stop calling me :)

The 4D Camera

This could be my next camera.

Here is what they have to say:
"I’ve always wanted to just be able to snap a picture whenever I wanted to, without having my friends freeze their smiles on their faces until the focus was complete. And now, that’s a possibility. The new Lytro pocket-sized cameras let you snap pictures whenever you want, letting you focus on whatever you want, later.
http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
How it works, you wonder. Well, apparently the Lytro camera captures all the light rays flowing in its direction, an average of about 11 million, and captures the scene in “four dimensions”, unlike any other camera out there.

So, you, or someone else you share you picture with will be able to refocus and explore the entire scene from different vantage points after you’ve already taken the photo."

Here is an example to play with. Click on any part of the image to refocus.
